Clavia Privacy Policy
Overview
Clavia (“we”, “our”) is an AI writing keyboard. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data.
Data we use
- Text you send for rewriting: When you tap an action (Fix, Rewrite, Shorten, Professional, Casual, or Reply), we send only the text you have in the input field (or selected text) to our servers to generate suggestions. We do not collect or transmit keystrokes as you type.
- Usage limits: We may store on your device how many rewrites you have used (for example for the free daily limit). We do not log the content of your requests for analytics or advertising.
What we do not do
- We do not passively collect or log what you type.
- We do not sell your text or any personal data.
- We do not use your text to train AI models unless you have given separate, explicit consent.
- We do not monitor your activity in the background.
Full Access
The keyboard extension requires “Full Access” to send the text you choose to our API when you tap an action. Without Full Access, AI features cannot function. We do not use Full Access for keylogging or any purpose other than sending the text you explicitly submit.
History (optional)
If you enable “History” in Clavia settings, we may store recent rewrites on your device for your convenience. You can disable this at any time. When History is off, we do not store your text on device.
Data retention & security
- We do not retain the content of your rewrite requests on our servers beyond what is necessary to generate and return the response.
- Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS).
Children
Clavia is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email if we have it.
